It has been a great 6 year run for Monkey Child. The band started in late 2003, and since December of that year, Chuck on guitar, Mark on bass and Dave on keys have formed the constant nucleus of the project. But all things eventually come to an end, and we've found that our shared objectives for the band aren't exactly shared any more. So, this is it, folks - the end of the line. Thank you all for your love and support over the past six years.
Chuck, Dave and Mark played our final show together at THE FAT FROG in Littleton, Colorado on Friday May 22, 2009. It’s only fitting that our drummer for this show was our good friend Ed Bonham, who played regularly with us in the 2006-2007 time frame, and who appears on our CD. Thanks to all who came and sent us out with a house full of friends.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Guitarist and vocalist Chuck Clawson is starting a new solo/Americana project called The Broadway Flyer.
Keyboardist and vocalist Dave Bauer continues his seven-year run playing with Airplay, a popular Denver lounge act playing soft rock, jazz standards and mellow originals.
Drummer Dennis Hurlburt has turned up the volume drumming for the hard rock cover band Unlisted. Former drummer Ed Bonham plays his double-bass kit in the heavy rock cover band Circle of Six. Bassist Mark Byrd is still entertaining offers for the right hard-working project.

MONKEY CHILD ON THE RADIO! IN BELGIUM, OF ALL PLACES. Yes, its true. Our song "On the Corner" got picked up by the radio show "Mojo Dreams" that airs multiple times on two FM stations in Belgium. We aren't quite ready to schedule a European concert tour yet, but it is great to get some airplay across the pond!

MONKEY CHILD SCORES A #1 ON SOUNDCLICK! Soundclick is a website where new indie bands can post their songs for listening and rating. In the "Alternative" category, there are 128,000 songs available for listening, so it was no small coup for our song Porch Light to hit #1 on this huge national chart. We're certainly ecstatic for the recognition, and we thank all of our fans who clicked away to help raise us to the top. On March 24, the day it hit #1, thousands of people played the song.
